Ever wondered where new roses come from or how they are created? I asked a very talented rose breeder I work with, Brad Jalbert, to appear in one of our videos to show you how.
Rose breeders to me are the heroes of the garden world. They spend hours and hours creating crosses, growing the seedlings, evaluating the roses and if they are lucky 5-10 years later one or two may make it to market.
That’s a lot of work and it truly is a labor of love. I’ve met a lot of rose breeders over the years and what they all have in common is passion. Passion for roses and passion for their work. And we are the lucky beneficiaries of that.
